RoadRank

Privacy Policy

Effective:21 April 2026Last updated:21 April 2026Version:1.0

Quick Summary

RoadRank is a driving analytics app. To work, it needs access to your phone's location and motion sensors while you drive — that's how we measure your speed, distance, and G‑force.

The App is ad‑free. We do not sell your personal data. We use a small number of third‑party services for analytics, crash reporting, subscription management, marketing attribution, and customer support. You can request access, deletion, or a copy of your data at any time by emailing [email protected].

This summary is for convenience. The full policy below is what legally applies.

01 Who we are

This Privacy Policy describes how Retry Apps Yazılım Limited Şirketi ("RoadRank", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information in connection with the RoadRank mobile application (the "App") and any related websites or services (together, the "Services").

Our registered office is in Türkiye. For any privacy‑related question, contact us at [email protected].

We are the data controller of the personal data described in this policy, except where a third party is named as an independent controller (for example, Apple for App Store purchases).

02 What we collect

We try to collect as little personal data as we reasonably can. The categories below describe what RoadRank may collect, depending on how you use the App.

Information you provide

Information collected automatically

Information from others

03 Sensor & location data

Because the App exists to measure how you drive, sensor and location data deserve a dedicated section. Here is exactly what we access, when, and why.

What we don't collect. RoadRank does not collect vehicle identification numbers (VIN), odometer readings, fuel consumption, engine diagnostics, or any data from connected‑car platforms, OBD‑II dongles, or manufacturer telematics systems. We work only with the sensors built into your iPhone.
SourceWhat & WhenWhy
GPS / LocationLatitude, longitude, speed, heading, altitude, and accuracy. Collected only while a trip is active. If you enable automatic trip detection, location is sampled in the background at a reduced rate to detect the start of a drive.Measure route, speed, distance; detect when a trip begins and ends.
AccelerometerLinear acceleration on three axes, sampled during a trip.Measure acceleration, braking, and peak/average G‑force.
GyroscopeRotation rate on three axes, sampled during a trip.Detect cornering, lane changes, and orientation.
Barometer (if available)Relative air pressure.Improve altitude accuracy.
Motion & Fitness activityThe system's coarse activity classification (e.g. "automotive").Avoid recording trips when you are walking or stationary.
Background location. The App may continue to use your location when it is not on screen, so that trips started on the road are captured end‑to‑end. You can revoke this permission at any time from your phone's Settings. If you do, automatic trip tracking will stop working, but the rest of the App will continue to function.

Sensor data is processed on your device in real time. Aggregated trip metrics and (if you have an account) route summaries are synced to our servers. You can delete any trip — including its full GPS trace — from the trip history screen.

04 How we use it

We do not use your trip data to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you. We do not sell your trip routes or personal identifiers to data brokers.

05 Legal bases (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR:

06 Third parties

We use a limited number of service providers to run the App. Each is contractually bound to handle your data only on our instructions and with appropriate security. Categories and representative providers:

PurposeProviderData Shared
Cloud hosting & databaseHetzner Online GmbH (Germany / Finland, European Union)Account data, trip data, usage logs
Product analyticsGoogle Firebase Analytics; Mixpanel, Inc.Device identifiers, usage events, session data
Crash reportingGoogle Firebase CrashlyticsDevice info, stack traces, app state at the time of a crash

Each provider acts as our processor under our written instructions, except Meta Platforms and Apple, which act as independent controllers for their own purposes under their respective privacy policies. Links to each provider's privacy policy are available on request at [email protected].

We may also disclose information (a) to comply with a valid legal request, (b) to protect our rights, property, or safety, or the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public, or (c) in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets — in which case we will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

07 Leaderboards & sharing

Leaderboards are opt‑in. If you choose to participate, other users may see your display name, profile photo, and the specific aggregated metric that drives the leaderboard (for example, top speed). They will not see your routes, start or end addresses, or any other trip details.

When you generate a shareable trip image, it is created on your device. If you send it to another app or social network, that platform's privacy policy applies to what it does with the image afterwards.

08 Subscriptions & payments

RoadRank Pro subscriptions are purchased and billed through Apple's App Store or Google Play. We do not receive your credit card number, CVV, or full billing address. We receive only the purchase receipt and subscription status needed to unlock Pro features. Billing, renewals, and refunds are governed by Apple's or Google's terms.

09 Retention

10 Security

We use TLS for data in transit and encryption at rest for data on our servers. Access to personal data is limited to employees and contractors who need it to operate the Service and is subject to confidentiality obligations. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — but we take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, and we will notify you and the relevant authorities of any personal‑data breach within the timeframes required by law.

11 International transfers

RoadRank is operated from Türkiye. Your core account and trip data is stored on servers in the European Union (Hetzner data centers in Germany and Finland). Some of our service providers (Google, Mixpanel, RevenueCat, Meta, and Freshworks) process limited data in the United States. When we transfer personal data outside your country, we rely on recognized safeguards — including the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, and, where applicable, adequacy decisions — to ensure a level of protection comparable to your home jurisdiction.

12 Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] from the address associated with your account, or use the in‑app "Delete my data" option. We will respond within 30 days (extendable to 90 days for complex requests, as permitted by law).

13 California (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know, delete, correct, and limit the use of sensitive personal information we collect about you, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.

In the twelve months before this policy's effective date, RoadRank may have collected the following categories of personal information: identifiers, internet and other electronic activity information, geolocation data, inferences, and commercial information (subscription status). We use this information for the purposes described in Section 4.

"Sale" and "sharing" under the CCPA. We do not sell personal information for money, and the App does not display third‑party advertisements. However, because we use the Meta (Facebook) SDK to measure marketing attribution, device identifiers may be disclosed to Meta in ways that can qualify as "sharing" for cross‑context behavioral advertising under California law. You may opt out at any time by:

14 Türkiye (KVKK)

If you are in the Republic of Türkiye, the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 ("KVKK") applies. RoadRank acts as veri sorumlusu (data controller). You have the rights set out in Article 11 of the KVKK, including the right to learn whether your personal data is being processed, to request information about such processing, to request correction or deletion, and to object to processing that produces a result against you. Requests may be sent to [email protected] in accordance with the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles for the Application to Data Controllers.

15 Children

RoadRank is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in jurisdictions that set that higher threshold). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Driving a motor vehicle is age‑restricted in every jurisdiction we are aware of; the App should only be used by licensed drivers or while a licensed adult is driving. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

16 Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make a material change, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and notify you — through the App, by email, or both — before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Services after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
